5.10 Lets just multiply the probability and get a conviction

Tragic events such as cot deaths thankfully happen only rarely.  The probability is less than one in a thousand.  But what happens if tragedy strikes twice.  What you don't do is take the already low probability and square it.  What you certainly don't do is what happened in 1996 is ignore conditional probability and seek to convict a mother for double murder.
