Admittedly, I've never played one before, and even in this case, I bought a modern port of one of its games. But it's time to show the SMS some love, and I gotta say, if Wonder Boy In Monster Land is any indication of\xa0what the Master System could do, I might have to look\xa0up some more of its classics down the road.\xa0\n\xa0\nIf you've never played it, Wonder Boy is a mix of Adventure Island and Zelda II, for lack of a better combo. You're traveling from area to area, buying equipment and spells and talking to townspeople looking for tips on where to go, but while you're doing that, a timer is ticking away and taking your health with it. It's tough as balls, I couldn't finish it, but I also couldn't stop playing it. I have a thing for tour retro games, and Wonder Boy scratched me right where I itched.\n\xa0\nThis episode is sponsored by long-time supporter and friend of the show, Mr. McG. He swings by to explain why he has so much love for the Boy of Wonder, and then my buddy Chris, a card-carrying Sega kid, gave me a call and helped me understand why Wonder Boy was so beloved back in the day.\n\xa0\nAnd before we die over and over, I slap together another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'!\n\xa0\nThis week, someone asks if I have any regrets about taking RTG and turning it from a hobby into a business. Why do I prefer digital games over physical? And are there any games I've kept playing, despite not loving the combat, just because the story was so good??\n\xa0\nPlus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 Master System Mainstays: Marble Madness, Golden Axe Warrior\xa0and\xa0Alex Kidd in Miracle World.\nLearn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
