8. La La Land
Set in the heart of LA, Sebastian and Mia are both trying to pursue their own dreams while falling in love with one another. However, when they start to see success it begins to strain their relationship and tear them apart. Both characters have to make difficult decisions in an attempt to try to do what's best for them and their partner. This film is simultaneously a reinvention of the genre, and a love letter to the movies that inspired it.
