6. Maudie
Set in Marshalltown Nova Scotia, this biographical drama follows the life and rise to fame of a folk painter named Maudie. Despite her severe health condition, and being treated like a child, Maudie takes her life into her own hands when she answers a fisherman's ad and begins to work as a housemaid. Although their personalities collide, Maudie and Everett begin to grow closer to one another as Maudie begins to get recognized for her artistic abilities.
