Jaroslav Rudis: Everything is connected in Central Europe
After decades as one of Czechia\u2019s best-known authors, Jaroslav Rudi\u0161 is about to see the first ever publication of one of his novels in English. However, Winterberg\u2019s Last Journey was actually written in German, rather than Czech, reflecting the Berlin resident\u2019s deep immersion in German culture. Ahead of the release of the English version of the novel \u2013 which traces a 99-year-old Sudeten German\u2019s sometimes bizarre trip through Central Europe \u2013 I managed to catch up with the extremely busy Rudi\u0161 outside a Prague caf\xe9.
