Genesis 21 God's Faithfulness

Have you ever had "one of those days?"\xa0 One of those days where you wonder why you got out of bed? \xa0

Well, in Genesis 21 Abraham was having "one of those days."\xa0 To be more precise, it was probably "one of those years." \xa0 No matter how good life seemed to be working out for him, his past indiscretions kept popping up to taunt him. \xa0

He is not sooner celebrating at the birth and weaning of his son Isaac, when his wife Sarah comes to him and demands that he "cast out" his other son Ishmael and his mother.\xa0 He no sooner has taken care of that problem, when Abimilech shows up as a reminder of his old sin. \xa0

But, the truth we can gain from this chapter is this; regardless of how we fail, God remains faithful.\xa0 God fulfilled his promises to Abraham despite some pretty blaring character flaws.\xa0 And God will hold to His promises to us, even when our lives say that we don't deserve it.
