Happy 2020 Silver Spoons Fans,\n\nAngela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast.\n\nWelcome to a new year and a new decade as well as a new podcast theme song for Season 4 and the final Season 5.\n\nToday, I covered S4E1: Head Over Heels, which aired on September 15, 1985.\n\nIn this episode Whitney Houston who's a friend of Kate's comes for a visit. And when Dex meets her, he falls for her. Ricky and Edward try to get him to loosen up. And they do such a good job that Dex is no longer paying attention to his work and is even thinking of moving to be with her which doesn't make Alfonso happy.\n\nI thought for a episode it was ok since they had Whitney Houston guest starring, but for a Season Opener it felt kind of weak, Dexter falling in love over the course of a week's time and jumping the gun to move to Los Angeles and uproot Alfonso after he's just got settled after being moved around alot by him mom was ridiculous. Not to mention this is all news to Whitney who's career at the time was really starting to take off. It's all too fast too soon.\n\nI know Edward and the boys wanted Dexter to loosen up and be more down with it and hip changing his clothes and lingo to impress Whitney, (who honestly I think was already impressed with Dexter's buttoned up businesslike personality because that's what she saw when she first met him), which in the end creates a monster.\n\nI really wish we could have learned how Kate and Whitney knew each other. Did they go to college together? Did Whitney spend time around Columbus, Ohio when Kate lived there and they happened to run into each other and strike up a friendship? I guess it's not important to the storyline, but I kind of wanted to know.\n\nI also mention how when Edward heads over to talk some sense into Dexter he has on the same clothes he spent the last half hour exercising and sweating in. All he did was put a jacket on. I mean ewww!
