Hey Everyone,\n\nAngela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast.\n\nTonight I covered Silver Spoons S3E20: Hot Shot ,which aired on March 3, 1985\n\nIn this episode a pair of scalawags (I prefer the term swindlers, absolute garbage people these two guys) use Rick in their scam to sell faulty cameras.\n\nThis was a lesson episode for anyone who\u2019s ever been scammed or swindled.\n\nI definitely learned quite a few things during this episode.\n\n1. Never trust a classified job that lists these words in their AD.\n\nNo Experience Necessary, All Ages Considered, Sales, Earnings Unlimited.\n\nI would have so many questions, the first one being, Is this legal?\n\nGranted if I have to ask this one. I should already know the answer. H 2 the NO!\n\nWhat kind of sales?\n\nWhat do you mean by all ages considered?\n\nEarnings Unlimited (So, I basically work on commission and don\u2019t earn until I sell.\n\nForget you. BYE \n\nI\u2019m sorry but if I walk into an interview and see food on the table especially plates and silverware, I\u2019m gone.\n\nBeyond unprofessional (like, what did I just walk in on, dinner, uh... no thank you.\n\n2. Golden Rule- If something sounds to good to be true, it probably is.\n\nI one time went into a job based on a similar description in a classified ad but it was for selling knives and found out I wouldn\u2019t be getting paid till I started making sales. \n\nAnother time I forked over $100 to a job hunting company in the early 2000\u2019s to use their computers to find job postings and go out on leads. Never got my non refundable money back either when I decided it was a terrible idea.\n\nStupid lessons learned when you\u2019re 19.\n\nAlso in this episode I find out how old you have to be to donate plasma, how many 5 cent aluminum cans you'd need to get $150, ANSWER: 3,000 cans. GAH! \n\nAnd this is before the automated self serve machines.\n\nAnd I figure how much $150 from 1985 would be in 2019. It came out to $357 supposedly with an Inflation Calculator.\n\nPlus more stuff to laugh along with me as I cover this kookie cray-cray episode.\n\nJoin me next week for a doozy of an episode literally makes me want to retch just by the description.
