Happy Sunday Everyone!\n\nAngela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna ind Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast.\n\nToday, I\u2019m covering S2E7: Menudo Madness which aired on December 3, 1983.\n\nIn this episode to impress a girl and get her to attend his party, Ricky promises her that the music group Menudo will be there - leaving only the small detail of getting them to show up.\n\nAlso in this episode Rick\u2019s on the debate team and he\u2019s all for lowering the driving age to 14.\n\nHere\u2019s his reasoning:\n\nRicky Stratton: If we lower the driving age to 14, it'll cut down on the time parents spend in carpools - which will stimulate the economy, thus stopping the insidious spread of communism. I conclude with the fervent hope that I'll never have to say: "Thank you, comrades."\n\nAll his reasons or points make zero sense and wouldn\u2019t hold up in a real debate.\n\nAlso Menudo has a crazed fan who wants specifically Miguel to have her babies. This girl clearly doesn\u2019t know how reproduction works.\n\nShe even goes so far as to steal an elderly hotel security guard\u2019s clothes to sneak into their room and at one point is seen outside their window on a ledge confessing her undying love to Miguel.\n\nShe is one step away from Kathy Bates \u201cI\u2019m your No. 1 Fan\u201d Miserying him.\n\nWe get a song and dance from Edward and Kate as they try to stop the kids from leaving the party when Menudo is two hours late.\n\nWe get to meet Foobie a robot created by one of Edward\u2019s toy inventors of Eddie\u2019s Toys Company, who\u2019s got the hots for Kate. Edward even encourages Kate to kiss Foobie.\n\nThis just entices Foobie to chase after her.\n\nI thought Edward was going to introduce Kate to Foobie not just as his secretary but also his girlfriend.\n\nWhere\u2019s the continuity, writers?\n\nIf Edward and Kate are getting married in Season 3 (Spoiler Alert), let\u2019s see more cutesy couple-y moments. I mean the singing and dancing was cute.\n\nStarting this week I'm covering two episodes of Silver Spoons a week from now until the middle of May.\n\nLater this week join me in wishing Ricky Stratton a Happy 13th Birthday in S2E8: Happy Birthday, which aired on December 10, 1983.\n\nIn this episode It's Ricky's 13th birthday, and his first with his father.
