Jennifer's Body (AKA we all owe Megan Fox an apology)

Fright Level: Spoopy (not scary)
Trigger Warnings: gaslighting, kidnapping, cannibalism, possession, toxic friendships, use of disability slurs

Jennifer's Body is the 2009 horror/comedy from director Karyn Kusama (The Invitation, Girlfight) and writer Diablo Cody (Juno) starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, and Adam Brody. It was torn up by critics and well known for having one of the worst advertising campaigns ever, but has since become a cult classic with queer horror fans and especially queer women. Why?

Because it's actually really freaking good! It's a story about toxic friendships, blossoming queer relationships, 2000's indie emo bands, and ritual sacrifice and we're gonna tell you why it might be a modern queer feminist horror masterpiece.

Also: Megan Fox is great, actually and we as a society owe her a huge apology.
