United Nations Association of Dane County Presents: Ukraine and Chernobyl - the Continuing Saga
Norma Berkowitz was the recipient of the UNA-USA Dane County’s 2010 Global Citizen of the Year award. She founded and developed the Friends of Chernobyl Centers U.S. (FOCCUS) in 1994. FOCCUS funds programs that help deal with local issues arising from post-Chernobyl health and psychosocial problems and that foster community development. Norma talks about the Chernobyl accident, its impact upon the Ukraine, the status of the Chernobyl site today and the role of the United Nations in the aftermath of the accident.
