Q&A: Pregnancy Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Published: Oct. 25, 2017, 7:30 a.m.

Carpal tunnel syndrome during pregnancy is the result of edema, which is the buildup of fluid, in your wrists, which can put pressure on a nerve that runs all the way down your arm into your hand, and cause tingling or numbness. In addition, this can be painful and can even affect your grip and strength in your hands. This episode answers a listener question about preventing carpal tunnel syndrome during pregnancy and what you can do to treat it.
