When brother Paul continued to work in Corinth as his custom, he went to the synagogue to preach and reason with the Jews. His intention is to convince them that Jesus Christ was the Messiah.
\nIn chapter 18 of the Book of Acts, however, we saw a change in the tone of Paul, as the Jews became more aggressive and abusive in their challenge. We are told that he left the synagogue and went across the street to the house of a God-fearing man named Titus Justus to continue his task of preaching and persuading the people about the gospel.
\nACTS 18: 7 SO PAUL LEFT THE SYNAGOGUE AND WENT NEXT DOOR TO THE HOUSE OF TITUS JUSTUS, A WORSHIPER OF GOD. 8 CRISPUS, THE SYNAGOGUE LEADER, AND HIS WHOLE HOUSEHOLD BELIEVED IN THE LORD. AND MANY OF THE CORINTHIANS WHO HEARD THE MESSAGE BELIEVED AND WERE BAPTIZED.
\nThe Lord is restoring and emphasizing this model of communion, which is organic by nature. The way we see and define communion and the service of the Kingdom of God is changing. While this model may not apply to all churches, particularly if the leadership understands the prophetic direction of God for the people.
\nThe Bible says when Paul saw that the leaders of the synagogue were abusive in their opposition, he shook or swung his clothes in protest and said to them, "Your blood is on your own head." I am innocent of it; I will go to the Gentiles. Of course, we know that the Lord had initially sent him to the Gentiles, but he had tried all his efforts to win the Jew.
\nWe are at a critical point in the shaking of what men have built for themselves in the name of the Lord. The Lord is now judging these massive idols of men, which are called church. During this shaking or judgment or whatever you would like to call it, we need to know how to gather in fellowship, so that we can continue to grow in fellowship and worship the Father according to his intention.
\nThe fact that Paul moved from the synagogue to the house of one called Justus to me is an indication that we must understand that there is no one pattern in relation to the place of fellowship or worship. In this season, the Body of Christ must listen carefully to the teaching and direction of the Spirit in terms of how and where to fellowship, especially those who have left the organized religious system.
