My teacher in India eventually attracted so many students that\n he began to appoint assistants to lead retreats on their own.\n I began assisting him in 1996 and soon was made a senior\n assistant teacher. I led ten-day retreats throughout Canada,\n the United States, England, Myanmar, and India. I especially\n enjoyed addressing the many issues my students faced, most\n of whom were dealing with the daily shock of seeing into the\n skittishness of their minds for the first time. I was on a mission\n to spread the teachings, I had status and prestige within the\n community of meditators, and my personal practice was\n strong. How my life had changed!...\n
