The future of work is distributed, remote, and hybrid. For companies with employees who need high-performance computing to do their jobs, it can be challenging (and expensive) to deploy sufficient hardware to multiple locations. That's where Softdrive comes in. This cloud startup puts PCs in the cloud so organizations can subscribe to superfast computers, relieving IT pain and saving on hardware. Users then access high-powered computing anywhere they have an Internet connection. Softdrive cofounder Leonard Ivey joined Whitney Durmick of Oracle for Startups to talk about the potential of a streaming PC for remote teams, and the role 5G will play in a high-powered workforce.
