Episode 23 of One Week Only! This week, our key film is the documentary “Gleason” by Clay Tweel. Steve Gleason was a successful NFL player who retired to start a family, but was struck by a sudden diagnosis of ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. The film follows his struggle to fight the diagnosis & be an inspiring figure for this disability, while also being a good husband and father, despite his condition. A powerful, tear-jerking story, the film comes to LA & NY this weekend, courtesy of Open Road Films. We also cover Hollywood documentary “Women He’s Undressed” about Oscar-Winning Costumer Orry-Kelly, by Gillian Armstrong; Wall Street thriller “Equity” starring Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), from Meera Menon; documentary “Hollywood Beauty Salon” about a Philadelphia Recovery Community, by Glenn Holsten; science fiction end-of-the-world drama “Into the Forest” starring Ellen Page & Evan Rachel Wood, by Patricia Rozema; and “Heironymus Bosch: Touched by the Devil,” a documentary about celebrating the 500th anniversary of the famed Medieval painter, by Pieter van Huystee.
