The plot focuses on Po becoming a proper kung fu teacher after Master Shifu retires with the results not going as well as he thought it would. But an unexpected meetup with his biological father Li Shan ends up with Po going to a panda village where he would train the other pandas kung fu. A villain named Kai threatens all the kung fu masters by stealing their chi to become more powerful. Will Po teach the other pandas kung fu in time? What path will Po choose in who he'll see as his real father?
\nWhen the movie premiered in theaters, it was a major hit in the box office receiving over $521 million dollars on a $145 million dollar budget.
