In this episode of DreamMachine, Patricia and Arun discuss about the 2013 animated film The Croods. The film is about a cave family consisting of a cave man named Grug, his wife Ugga, his daughters Eep and Sandy, his son Thunk, and his mother Gran traveling to a new location after a massive earthquake destroyed their home. Along the way, they meet up with a young caveman named Guy who is very knowledgeable about everything in the world with Eep falling in love with him. Grug, wanting to be the main leader of the family is threatened by Guy and tries to distance his family away from him. While on their journey, they go through many obstacles to try to get to a new place they can call home. Will they make the journey in one piece or will they fall apart?  

When the movie premiered in theaters, it made over $572 million dollars in the box office despite mixed reviews from critics and viewers. Some people consider The Croods to be the beginning of the end of the golden age of DreamWorks films after over 350 people were fired when Rise of the Guardians was a failure and the company restructured itself.
