Promoting economic and social progress throughout the world has been the aim of the OECD since it opened in September 1961. One member country that has embodied this goal since the outset is Ireland. Its strong economic performances, the quality of life and its appeal to global investors are just some illustrations of this. \n\nSo, as we build the post-pandemic world, what lessons can we draw from Ireland? For instance, is globalisation a problem or the solution? \n\nIn March, to help mark the organisation\u2019s 60th anniversary and also to mark another global celebration, Saint Patrick\u2019s Day, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurr\xeda and Ireland\u2019s Finance Minister Paschal Donohue sat down with Harvard economist Megan Greene to discuss such questions.
