Although Canada is no stranger to murder, madness and mayhem, we have been very fortunate to have largely avoided the type of mass murders and shootings that have become common fixtures in other countries with similar cultures to our own.\nOn April 23, 2018, Younge Street in Downtown Toronto was the setting of an event that many Canadians had taken comfort in thinking could never happen here.\n25 year old Alek Minassian hit the gas and jerked the wheel of the rented cube van he was driving forcing the vehicle onto a busy sidewalk. For several city blocks Minassian used the vehicle to target pedestrians, killing 10 and injuring 16.\nIn this episode of Nighttime, I am again joined by my best friend Scott to continue our discussion of the Toronto Van Attack. For the third part in this series, our focus is on the judge's decision in the case against Minassian.\xa0\nLinks:\nthe Toronto Van Attack part 1 - https://www.nighttimepodcast.com/episodes/toronto-van-attack\nthe Toronto Van Attack part 2 - https://www.nighttimepodcast.com/episodes/toronto-van-attack-2\nCredits:\nMusical Theme - Noir Tokyo by Monty Datta\nProvide feedback and comments on the episode:\nnighttimepodcast.com/contact\nNighttime Links:\nPremium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/nighttimepodcast\nWebsite: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/NightTimePod\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightTimePod\nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/nighttimepod\nYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/nighttimepod\nPremium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/Nighttimepodcast\nLearn more about your ad choices.
