Although Canada is no stranger to murder, madness and mayhem, we have been very fortunate to have largely avoided the type of mass murders and shootings that have become common fixtures in other countries with similar cultures to our own.\n\nOn April 23, 2018, Younge Street in Downtown Toronto was the setting of an event that many Canadians had taken comfort in thinking could never happen here.\n\n25 year old Alek Minassian hit the gas and jerked the wheel of the rented cube van he was driving forcing the vehicle onto a busy sidewalk. For several city blocks Minassian used the vehicle to target pedestrians, killing 10 and injuring 16.\n\nIn this episode of Nighttime, I am again joined by my best friend Scott to continue our discussion of the Toronto Van Attack we started in part one of this series. Our focus now will shift from speculating on his motivation, to reviewing excerpts of his confession.\n\nLinks:\n\nthe Toronto Van Attack part 1 - https://www.nighttimepodcast.com/episodes/toronto-van-attack\n\nNightcap post show episode (Patron Exclusive) : patreon.com/nighttimepodcast\n\nCredits:\n\nMusical Theme: Sunny by Paragon Cause\n\nAmbient Theme: Spooky Ambience by Paragon Cause\n\nContact:\n\nWebsite: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com\n\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/NightTimePod\n\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightTimePod\n\nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/nighttimepod\n\nEmail: NightTimePodcast@gmail.com\n\nSupport the show: https://www.patreon.com/nighttimepodcast\nPremium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/Nighttimepodcast\nLearn more about your ad choices.
