D (Detroit, Michigan) James Matthews

Published: July 26, 2019, 6 a.m.

In this episode, Heather is joined by her sister Kim to discuss a killer from Detroit, Michigan who had “slipped through the cracks”.  65-year-old James Matthews is a suspect in two homicides in Michigan, three in Texas, and one in New York.  He was being held in jail for allegedly strangling a 35-year-old woman.  Since no charges were filed within the required 72 hours, he was released from jail.  About four months later, police had enough evidence to move forward with a murder warrant.  As you’ll hear in the episode, apparently the police “flubbed” this case.     Stay tuned at the end for an outtake!Follow Kim on Instagram: @kimmrueFollow Kim’s Art page on Instagram: @upfromthegroundwatercolor Subscribe to Cult of Domesticity Podcast Our theme music was created and customized by Nico Vettese of We Talk of Dreams.  You can follow him on IG (@wetalkofdreams)  and Twitter (@WeTalkofDreams).
