We watched Notes on a Scandal (2006) with our friend Paul from That Aged Well Podcast and sometimes we all feel like bitter old virgins.\xa0 New art teacher Sheba Hart (Cate Blanchett) catches the attention of cynical \u201cbattle ax\u201d Barbara Covett (Judy Dench). Sheba\u2019s affair with a fifteen-year-old student becomes a tool in Barbara\u2019s plot to manipulate and possess Sheba and the antics ensue. The \u201cpredatory lesbian\u201d tropes aside, this movie is high-camp melodrama worthy of midnight screenings and drag queen lip syncs. The once mousy Sheba taunting Babs with her own diary entries has us cackling every time. \u201cYou think this is a love affair?!\u201d The intense score by Phillip Glass and the tight 92 minute runtime only add to the list of reasons to watch this movie today!
