The Worst Woman in the World: Serial Killer Lizzie Halliday

Published: Feb. 9, 2020, 10:39 p.m.

America in the 19th century was a tumultuous time. Elizabeth McNally, an Irish girl, emigrated to the United States from Ireland with her family settling in New York City.

Serial Killer Lizzie Halliday was a black widow and serial killer who murdered four people (maybe more) in upstate New York in the 1890s.

Lizzie was the first woman sentenced to die by the electric chair. Eventually, her sentence was commuted and she spent her remaining years terrorizing and murdering in a state asylum.

Mountain Murders investigates this strange tale from the past.
