When it comes to our own personal happiness, we procrastinate. When we are accountable to ourselves, we tend to delay things and “wait until Monday” to get started. Maybe it’s because we have so many commitments to other people for whom we are less likely to put off and procrastinate that we end up putting off and procrastinating our personal commitments that make us happy.
I’m just like you...when we are being honest. We prefer NOT to go to the gym, jog, walk, count calories, or deny ourselves those “bad foods.” We prefer not to do the healthy practices on the front side...when the activity is bearing down upon us. We prefer to eat, drink, and be merry because tomorrow “is Monday.” All that dreading about working out and counting calories is forgotten just as soon as you complete these tasks. Now, how do you feel? You feel proud of yourself! You feel successful! You feel accomplished! You feel closer to your goals.

And knowing that happiness is found IN THE EFFORT of losing weight, we still postpone that happiness to no end.
