You don't have to clear your mind! Other voices - Katie Sheen and Joseph Hamer

There's lots of misconceptions about mindfulness - some people think it's about clearing your mind, thinking positively or that it takes a lot of practice to see the benefits. In this chat with my friend and yours, Katie Sheen,  we put to bed some of the myths that exist about mindfulness. Katie is a fully qualified teacher who has been practicing mindfulness in her own life for over sixteen years, including through cancer treatment in 2015. Katie teaches mindfulness courses and has created her own online course and app (links below).

I'm also joined by Joseph Hamer, author of Brain Awakes - his book is an activity guide for parents which teaches emotional regulation to children. In this episode, Joseph talks about dealing with anxiety and takes us through a 15 minute meditation. We end with a reading from Thich Nhat Hanh's book Happiness and a song - 'Easy' by the Commodores. That's why I'm easy.... I'm easy like Sunday morning...
