This week we explore a talk given by Charles Fillmore on March 16, 1913. It is entitled "The Test of Abraham’s Faith." It is essentially a metaphysical look at the story of Abraham being called to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Some interesting quotes from the talk include: "Mind; Ideas; Manifestations. This generalizes every movement of man, in all his acts. … Now, this law is operative everywhere." "The meaning of sacrifice is that you shall relinquish, or let go of some limited idea, and for the purpose of making way for a larger idea." He also shares about the Powers of Imagination and Faith. At one point, Fillmore declares the reason for us not demonstrating what is in our mind, "Because you have gone beyond the conviction of your faith." In The Revealing Word, we explored from "God, manifest" to "God, reconciliation with."
