God is Speaking --- Isaiah 5 \nNot a lot of nice things coming from Isaiah this week. He invites us to imagine a vineyard where everything was meticulously cared for and prepared. The seeds were sown. But what came from the vines were no better than what spouts up outside of the vineyard and could not be used for wine at all. This is the metaphor Isaiah gives to a pre-Exile Kingdom. The people of God were more focused on their own pursuits than the well-being of their neighbor or the grateful worship of God. You could draw many parallels to the church and culture today.
