Exodus 13:17-22 \nWhy? Why would God lead his newly freed people directly to a sea when a notorious flip-flopper with a powerful army is a short distance behind? Because in this situation, when the Israelites have no hope of salvation on their own, is when God's glory is established once and for all. The most iconic image of the Exodus narrative is not a military victory or a bold human strategy. It's when God's power of salvation makes a new way through the water in the face of physical impossibility. This is also the Tuggles' last Sunday with us, and their commissioning is on the next track.
