Music that Heals: Alex Bondarev of Conversing with Oceans

Usually in those times you go to a good movie, song, or book... you confide in those things that artists create to get you through the hardest times in your life- and they shape the way you look at the world.\u201d- Eternal Optimist, Alex Bondarev.\n\nMusic was always the dream for today\u2019s guest, who shares his story of being a refugee from Chechnya, immigrating to India and then the United States as a child. With music as his anchor, Alex is the lead singer of \u201cA Moment\u2019s Worth\u201d along with his four best friends. AMW won the Elfenworks Social Justice Award for their uplifting song \u201cDedicate" and partnered with this non-profit group. Alex discusses the secrets behind their success and longevity in the music industry. \n\nWith nearly two decades as a musician, Alex has invaluable tips for balancing passions with responsibilities, becoming more disciplined in your creative process, and how to overcome the fear of releasing your work into the world. \n\nSpeaking of new work, his solo project is called \u201cConversing with Oceans\u201d and is quickly making waves- landing a one-on-one showcase with Randy Jackson at SXSW. His second single features a collaboration with the Grammy-nominated John Fort\xe9, who co-wrote and produced Fugees\u2019 groundbreaking LP The Score. Alex uses his art to help others in need by volunteering with the non-profit \u201cMusicians on Call\u201d and inspires me to think about how my art can be of service to others.
