Tired of the self-serving, agenda driven explanations for police violence against Black youth? There is an explanation, and it has to do with race, youth and the culture of law enforcement, but nothing to do with the simplistic interpretation provided by the media and various \u2018experts\u2019. Unfortunately, the more we understand the problem the more we realize there is no quick fix addressable by new training and new racial hires. Nor is a more liberal approach to policing going to work. In fact, policing in its present form, is incapable of addressing the problem. The prognosis is not good. The prediction is these types of incidents, as seen in Memphis, are likely to continue and get worse. There is a need to totally re-think policing and indeed how we construct a community.
