The church is not people in pews nor buildings whether ornate basilicas or structures less imposing. We know that, but are we aware it was not designed as a club nor to express cultural preferences? There is no reason to assume God hoped it would form a kind of spiritual gathering place. As Christians we were never meant to be united by shared statements of faith. Indeed, there is good reason to ask why creeds and doctrines are needed if the church reflected the design provided in the New Testament. Are we using human devised documents to protect our human fabrication from competing marketing ploys? What does, one body under Christ, mean to you? It does not sound as if it as meant to be complicated or divisive. So why the division? What really is the church? Find out now before you find out you were part of something else.
