The left has adopted the bizarre idea that equity means a social agenda focused on making everyone in a contest or competition arrive at the finish line neck and neck. This is as unreasonable as it is undoable. When compared to naturalism and survival of the fittest, it merely takes the end of the race with all of its inequality and transfers this inequality to the start of the race, in reverse. The one with the biggest lead is given the greatest handicap and the one who comes in dead lasts, is provided the longest lead. This is not equity in the way conservatives understand it. We explain why the difference in definitions is important to understand.
