Kant was an influential moral philosopher who would have us all live as if our actions were to be a pattern for all men to follow. This might be considered to be an early form of the What Would Jesus Do movement. But the implications go deeper than this. Not only does acting as if we might be a model for other humans to emulate put us in the place of God, modelling good behaviour, makes us prey to every shyster and con artist around. Has anyone anywhere ever used Kant as his ideal? The model to follow is Jesus.
