The Normative Question Never Asked
No one asks what it means to be normal because liberalism has taught us to equate normalcy with what is popular, a belief helped along by the liberal belief in democracy as a way to determine merit. Is it any wonder that influencers have an influence; call it the Kardashian Effect. Popularity generates normalcy. If someone can make it popular then it is said to have become normalized. But is it truly normal to live in fear?
