Democracy is the goto concept whenever problems in the West get bad, there is a call for more democracy (whatever that means). What if the problems in the West were created by too much democracy? There is nothing dumber than a mob and yet the West has come to the conclusion that if the mob is given the right to vote, an unknown reserve of pure intellect will be tapped. What the majority decides is always the best possible choice, as if truth was decided by the popular vote. Yet, the majority appear obsessed with porn, drugs and being entertained. To compare democracy with tyranny is neither fair nor rational. Right and wrong is decided neither by the power of the state or the power of the ballot box. If we want good government, we need to start with a better source of truth than the wants of man.
