Poverty is the direct result of idolatry. The poor are not victims of circumstance nor even collateral damage. The poor have always been portrayed as the victim. These are the forgotten in a system that favors the rich and powerful. The solution has always been to challenge the rich and powerful to share the wealth. But the problem is darker and more sinister than what greed as the modus operandi suggests. The problem of poverty is the problem of evil. Poverty being just one of the many symptoms of a people in the middle of spiritual warfare. If we serve the devil there are consequences. If we wish to eliminate poverty, and the other social problems, we need to defeat our spiritual enemies.
