Free speech either pertains to every guttural utterance formed by the human larynx or does not exist \u2013 at least in the way we are conditioned to think about it. Which means, the \u2018but\u2019 in the phrase, \u201cI believe in free speech .. but\u201d, is where the bigotry and hypocrisy begin. One either believes in free speech or one does not. There is no qualifier in an absolute declaration. However, that does not prevent us from asking what actually constitutes speech. Does it truly encompass every verbalization made possible by the human vocal cords?
