Atheists do not understand evil and so do not understand Satan. The church has no clear and divisive monograph on the nature of evil. People get the mistaken idea that God and Evil are equal but opposites, or that Good and Evil are relative ideas instead of analytical and logical absolutes. Many in the church also confuse Evil with Satan, thinking they are synonyms. Many Christians talk of evil as if all that evil is, can be found in the person of Satan. Thus, there are many people who come away believing if Good and Evil are equal but opposite, Satan and God must likewise be equal opposites. This is very poor analytics never mind exegesis. Evil is a separate thing which must be looked at on its own terms.
