The church and state is not the equivalent of business and the state even though many will equate the latter to the phrase, the private and public sectors. Business is not private and cannot be made private in the fullest extent of the word. State and church have the same meaning as flesh and spirit and private is simply a different way of talking about that which is separate from the state and those of the flesh. But that begs the question of how does a church that is divided from the state operate?
