Democracy is an idea that everyone has equal rights because we are all human. This is not empirically provable. There is no way to test if we are all human nor an experiment that could prove we all have the same rights individually. Nor does it make logical sense. If we are all human with the same rights we have no rights. It would be like saying we are all rats so we have rat rights. Without a means of delivery, one cannot have a right to what is promised. Democrats more than conservatives are subject to these facts. Democrats more than conservatives rely on the power of governments for their benefits. The state provides legal benefits not human rights. The state can only provide benefits to those under the law, according to the law, not to all persons. The state has no means to provide humans with human rights and because legal rights are as easily revoked as invoked, they are not rights at all.
