Isaiah 9:6 \u2013 For to us a child is born, to us a son in given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.\n\nSermon Point #1 \u2013 Peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the presence of Christ\n\nJohn 16:33 \u2013 \u201cI have told you these things, so that in my you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!\u201d\n\nShalom \u2013 Hebrew word that means wholeness, completeness, soundless, health, safety and prosperity\n\nLuke 17:20-21 \u2013 MSG \u2013 Jesus, grilled by the Pharisees on when the kingdom of God would come, answered, \u201cThe kingdom of God doesn\u2019t come by counting the days on the calendar. Nor when someone says, \u2018Look here!\u2019 or, \u2018There it is!\u2019 And why? Because God\u2019s kingdom is already among you.\u201d\n\nRomans 14:17 \u2013 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit\n\nSermon Point #2 \u2013 Jesus came to give us peace with God, peace with others and peace with ourselves\n\nJohn 14:27 \u2013 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.\n\nSermon Point #3 \u2013 Peace is a person\n\nMark 4:36-39 \u2013 ESV \u2013 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, \u201cTeacher do you not care that we are perishing?\u201d And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, \u201cPeace! Be still!\u201d And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.\n\nSermon Point #4 \u2013 Peace in our relationships\n\nMatthew 22:37-39 \u2013 Jesus replied: \u201c\u2019Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.\u2019 This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: \u2018Love your neighbor as yourself.\u2019\n\nSermon Point #5 \u2013 Peace in our minds\n\nMatthew 6:25-27 - \u201cTherefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?\n\nSermon Point #6 \u2013 Peace in our souls\n\nLuke 2:13-14 - Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, \u201cGlory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.\u201d
