Published: Sept. 11, 2023, 5 p.m.

Mel Howard joins me to discuss parenting while living with bipolar, warning signs and how to keep your family healthy and safe. Mel is a stay at home mom, part-time dog walker and advocate for mental illness. She works to silence the stigma through sharing her lived experiences, fundraising and volunteering with initiatives that support mental health awareness. \nTune in to hear Mel's story on her lived experience that has enabled her to identify triggers that can create an episode. She has lived with bipolar I for over 24 years since her diagnosis and describes the role that a bad accident played for her. \n\nShe explains her experiences with multiple hospitalizations, struggling with an eating disorder and facing past traumas in order to understand and heal. \n\nFor more Mel, connect with her here.
