In 2002, The Ring, a Japanese style horror film, made waves in the US because of how genuinely scary the movie was. Directed by Gore Verbinski and starring Naomi Watts, the movie follows a journalist who tries to get to the bottom of a cursed video tape that has been blamed for a recent string of deaths.
