Published: May 19, 2021, 11:36 a.m.

Patrick Smith called 911, distraught. He told the dispatcher that his wife, Amanda, had just shot herself in the head. When police arrived on the scene, they found gun cleaning equipment near the bed. The room was bloody, but Patrick wasn\u2019t. He told the police what happened that night, but hours later, his story changed. With each iteration, the story got more strange. And Amanda\u2019s mom, Judith Binnie, grew suspicious.\n
