President & CEO Special Operations Warrior Foundation, on todays podcast.\xa0 Please consider donating to help families of the fallen.\n\xa0\nSPECIAL OPERATIONS WARRIOR FOUNDATIONEmpowering the Families of Fallen and Wounded Special Operations Forces since 1980Mission\xa0Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) supports America\u2019s Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine\xa0Corps Special Operations personnel through two programs: (1) Ensuring full financial assistance for\xa0postsecondary education from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical or trade\xa0school, as well as educational counseling, preschool grants, and tutoring to the surviving children of\xa0Special Operations personnel who lose their lives in the line-of-duty and, (2) Providing immediate financial\xa0grants to severely combat-wounded and hospitalized Special Operations personnel and their families.History\xa0Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) was founded in 1980 after the daring attempt to rescue\xa053 American hostages in Iran, which ended in the tragic loss of eight servicemen who left behind\xa017 children. A battlefield promise to take care of those 17 children has become the noble mission of\xa0the Special Operations Warrior Foundation to educate and empower over 1,300 children.Future VisionEntering our 40th year of service in 2020, Special Operations Warrior Foundation has launched the\xa0Enduring Promise campaign. Donors, partners, and communities will unite to ensure the future success of\xa0surviving children and families of fallen Special Operators for the next 40 years and beyond. Hutmacher, Major General, USA (Ret.)President & CEO Special Operations Warrior FoundationClay Hutmacher became the President and Chief Executive Officer of the\xa0Special Operations Warrior Foundation in September 2018. He was a career United States Army Officer and retired in 2018 having served over 40 years in uniform.\xa0 As an Army Special Operations Aviator, he commanded at every level during his three tours with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, where he served as the MH-60 Direct\xa0Action Penetrator platoon leader, company operations officer, executive officer and commander of 1st Battalion, Regimental Commander, and the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation\xa0Command.\nMajor General Hutmacher's last active duty assignment was the Director of Operations in the U.S. Special Operation Command, Tampa, FL. His previous assignment was as the deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC.A native of Wenatchee, Washington, he was awarded a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Aerospace Management from Embry Riddle\xa0Aeronautical University, a Master\u2019s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval Command and Staff College, and a Master\u2019s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
