Be doers of the word , and not hearers only: Believers who hear the word of God must receive it with a teachable spirit, applying it to their daily lives. To hear and not obey is to be deceived.
But prove yourself doers of the word .

When children sometimes listen to parents and ignore what they say and instruct them to do.
Its kinda like when we read God's word and what it say in the Bible and not act like it.
Our actilns reflect what we are hearing.
When we honor God. God will honor our actions to please him for his glory.
Let us think about the results because of our actions when we elect pleasing God."
