Message Summary: Often on our journey with Jesus, we find we need to adjust our course and move toward Him with Him. We will be distracted by gifts and need to return to the healer who is the only one who can truly satisfy. We go back when we realize God gives us stuff so He can give us Himself and when we understand and pray, “God, be my all encompassing one thing.”
Field Notes Series: Whatever terms we use — Christ follower, Christian, Disciple, Believer — authentic relationship and apprenticeship to Jesus is not a check box or merely a set of beliefs. It’s not a religion we belong to. It’s not a stationary thing — it’s a journey, a movement and it is disorienting at times. In fact, as you read the story of Jesus in the book of Luke, the longest section —the part that gets us to Good Friday and Easter — is called “the Travel Narrative.” It reads like a travelogue of sorts. Luke 9:51 says, “As the days approached…He set His face to go to Jerusalem.” On the way to the most defining event in history — Jesus explains, teaches and course corrects what life with Him is all about. Join us as we travel with Jesus to Holy Week, Good Friday and beyond!
