ENOUGH | What Is Our Deepest Need? | \xa0March 13, 2022\nBob Schwahn | Lead Pastor \xa0\nMark 2:1-12 (NIV)\xa0\nA few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, \u201cSon, your sins are forgiven.\u201d Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, \u201cWhy does this fellow talk like that? He\u2019s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?\u201d Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, \u201cWhy are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, \u2018Your sins are forgiven,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Get up, take your mat and walk\u2019? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.\u201d So he said to the man, \u201cI tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.\u201d He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, \u201cWe have never seen anything like this!\u201d\xa0\n\xa0\nReflection Questions:\n1) What is your greatest need in life?\n2) Why do we tend to focus on our circumstantial needs more than our deepest spiritual needs?\n3) What are your deepest spiritual needs? How do you need to see Jesus heal you of areas of sin in your life? Take time to pray over these with Jesus and others.\n4) Why can it be difficult to see spiritual needs in others when the circumstances of their life appear to be going really well?\n5) The four friends had faith that Jesus could observe \u2013 it took action. How can we observe faith in others? How can people observe your faith?\n6) Who in your sphere of influence has spiritual needs? Who needs the healing of forgiveness found in Jesus?
