Jodie & Soda catch up with INXS Andrew Farriss & Kirk Pengilly to celebrate the bands 40-year anniversary and 30 years since INXS released the hits ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ and ‘New Sensation’ from their album Kick. Pengilly says they didn’t know back then that the album was going to be such a big success and even uses their own money to promote themselves. “Live Baby Live at Wembley Stadium we shot that and paid for it ourselves, there’s very few artists that actually have a film of themselves playing at Wembley Stadium” When asked about the late Michael Hutchence they said there’s not a day that goes by that they don’t think about their friend.“I missed him terrible, unfortunately people tend to zero in on the tragic towards the end of his life in fact Michael is a very funny, witty a very happy guy as I remember… I really miss him”* The 30th anniversary edition of Kick will be released on November 3.
